Nurse’s office

The school, following a methodology of best practices, aims to ensure the safety of students and the entire community by applying the highest safety standards and adopting reasonable measures to reduce risks of harm or accidents.

Care and attention go beyond responding to potential emergencies or administering immediate or ongoing treatments. Protecting students means safeguarding them and, whenever possible, detecting health issues early, promoting healthy habits, and providing them with the skills and self-management tools for their health.

To achieve this, the school supports the integration of the role of SCHOOL NURSE as an additional pillar of our institution. We aim to offer a reliable and effective response in the event of any issues affecting the students’ well-being and to provide support to each child and family.

Nursing Service

At the beginning of the school year or during it, for proper functioning and prevention, the nursing service may carry out assessments, depending on the case, need, or possibilities, school health check-ups where medical history, allergies, intolerances, etc. will be evaluated and securely stored in compliance with current regulations.

To do this, it is necessary for you to send us the following completed and signed forms:

  • Authorization for assessment and data custody
  • Authorization to administer common and/or prescribed medications
  • Health Form/Health Record

In case of an emergency at school, the nurse is the competent public authority regarding health matters and will determine the severity or protocol to follow, but under no circumstances can assume the functions of a doctor or family pediatrician.

The nursing service or the school is not a place for the care or daycare of sick children. Therefore, we kindly ask families to:

  • For the well-being of other children, please do not send your child to school if they are sick or suspected of being sick. If the child presents fever or symptoms of illness or any infectious condition, please visit their health center or pediatrician to determine whether they should attend school, and if so, what treatment should be followed.
  • Always inform the nursing service if the child is currently undergoing any treatment or has been administered any medication or antipyretic, including dosage and time of administration. This is to avoid administering other medications previously authorized, based on the criteria or assessment of the nursing service in case parents or guardians cannot be contacted. Whenever possible, it is recommended to establish schedules so that medication is administered at home.
